Add a Watermark to a PDF

How it works

1. Open the editor and select a PDF from your device.
2. Add a text or image watermark. Adjust its size, opacity and position, and choose the pages it should appear on.
3. Review placement on the selected pages, then export and save the watermarked PDF. Keep a separate copy of the original.

Mark drafts and branded documents

Use a text label such as Draft, Confidential or a website address. Add a logo for branded handouts. Lower the opacity to keep the document readable, especially over tables and small print.

Choose which pages receive the mark

Use the PDF page settings to target the pages you need. Review portrait and landscape pages separately: the same placement may not suit every page size. Check the exported document before sharing it.

PDF export and document limitations

The result is a PDF, not a set of screenshots. Watermarks are added to the document pages. Editing a digitally signed file can invalidate its signature; retain the signed original. Password-protected or unsupported PDFs may need an unlocked copy that you are authorized to edit.

Private browser processing

Watermark processing runs on your device, without uploading your media to a watermark processing server. The website, account services and optional resource downloads still use the network. See our privacy policy and pricing and limits.
